The ability to send and receive a fax online is taking the business world by storm, not only can it eliminate the need for a traditional fax machine, you can get a lot of added features that you cannot get with a traditional fax machine.  Unfortunately, any new technological innovation comes with its own set of drawbacks, and before deciding to make the switch to online fax technology, you must firstly consider if it is the right choice for you.

One of the major disadvantages to online faxing comes with the vulnerability of sending information online. It is possible for people to hack email accounts, and in this case it would then be possible for them to see your faxes. This means that sending sensitive information can be a tricky business, and online fax services are not the ideal choice for everyone. In addition, online fax providers may sometimes not provide the same services or functions that a traditional fax machine does. If it’s too much trouble to make the switch, and if the online fax service solution is only valid in certain situations, then you may decide that it’s just not worth it.

In the end, it is important to remember that although it’s a great new technology, online fax may not be the best option for you. Take your time before making any decision, rather than decide to make the switch and regret it later on down the line. Just as with other advances in technology, not all of them are going to work for you.
